This Hippie Town called Pai

Ladies and gentlemen, today I proudly present to you: Pai – the hippie village in the north of Thailand where you simply do.. nothing at all.

3 1/2 hours, 135km, a minivan, 762 curves and a really bad feeling in the stomach area – that basically sums up the drive from Chiang Mai to Pai. Once we reached the small town in the mountains though, the stomachache made room for admiration and happiness about this place. The vibes that hit you from the first moment on are overwhelming.
And that only gets more at night. Jazz- and reggae bars, life music, bonfires, people wearing chill, wide, organic hippie clothes, amazing street food, friendly locals and the feeling that you just wanna stay here forever and never ever wanna leave this amazing place that feels like home straight away.

Totally different from other places, this town advertises the fact that there really is nothing much to do here and that you should just come here to relax, enjoy and take in deeply all the positive vibes surrounding you. And that’s what we did too. Two meals a day because breakfast and lunch got combined to a nice fruit-müsli-yogurt-brunch, finding yourself in the middle of the day already after not having accomplished anything but eating and sleeping, spending the rest of the afternoon laying around, casually walking town or relaxing at one of the many massage places, enjoying a one-hour-oil-massage for 4€. This might seem like paradise or a dream to you.. And let me tell you: it is. The only thing that could lessen my excitement about this hippie-town called Pai would be the temperature that drops down to 16 degrees Celsius at night and really let’s you freeze in that little bungalow of yours. But other than that I have nothing to complain about right now and therefore I’ll just keep enjoying life and my last days as an 18 year old teenager.
Cheers to everyone out there, and lots of love from Pai!
