Last day in beautiful Chiang Mai

Thailandwow hostel, one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at so far. Khai, the owner, is the cutest, funniest, nicest and most welcoming person to walk the earth. He really made us feel at home in Chiang Mai and definitely took the biggest part in making our stay here one of the most memorable ones. Thank you for everything, Khai!

Movie theatre seats can’t get more comfortable than in Thailand I think. Watched “bird man” with Kelly, Daisy and Jack that I met at my hostel. The movie was really good and is totally recommendable. It’s not an easy, superficial, standard movie but it actually gives you something to think about. I could probably watch it again – which means something, because I usually don’t do that.

The really interesting part about our movie night were the dubbed American commercials that had Thai voices all of a sudden (which was hilarious and completely cracked us up – the Thai people didn’t think it was that funny) and secondly, the moment right before the movie started when everybody in the theater stood up for the national anthem and a highly propaganda-like short movie about the King and Thailand that ended with a picture of the King and his dog, accompanied by some New Years wishes. Something different I’d say.
