After the little disappointment of the supposedly pretty “beach town” Da Nang, Mom, Dad and I found our favorite place in all of Vietnam: the UNESCO world heritage city of Hoi An. We could’ve easily spent weeks in this cute little town but unfortunately we only had 4 nights (not the first time we cursed the Easter holiday limitation we were on). But we made the best of it and enjoyed every single moment: from our photography tour, massages, the Vietnamese cooking class, bike rides, great dinners, to interesting encounters with the locals – everything was a highlight.
Impressions from our photography tour with Pieter from the Netherlands through the back alleys of Hoi An. He took Mom, Dad and me off the beaten tracks, introduced us to a lot of locals and showed us how to approach them to take great close-ups and portraits of them. We enjoyed those four hours so much and definitely learned a whole lot – about photography, but also about the people living in Hoi An and their daily life. If you’re interested, we can definitely recommend going on the tour with Pieter: hoianphotowalks@gmail.com.
