Thailandwow hostel, one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at so far. Khai, the owner, is the cutest, funniest, nicest and most welcoming person to walk the earth. He really made us feel at home in Chiang Mai and definitely took the biggest part in making our stay here one of the most memorable ones. Thank you for everything, Khai!

Chiang Mai Canyon
About 30 minutes by scooter outside Chiang Mai lays a beautiful sweet water canyon, in which you’re not supposed to swim, but everybody does it anyway. And you might want to dive into it from one of the cliffs – if you dare. Continue reading
This Hippie Town called Pai
Ladies and gentlemen, today I proudly present to you: Pai – the hippie village in the north of Thailand where you simply do.. nothing at all. Continue reading
What is happiness
Do you know what happiness is to you? I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately. Because I always thought I knew what made me happy. Turns out when your away from home, not around your friends and family and outside of your comfort zone – what makes you happy changes. Chiang Mai and Pai Street Food

Best omelette on rice anyone could ever imagine. We had breakfast at that place every single day because the food there was just so good.
Waterfalls and Temples of the North
Basically, I’m only leaving the hostel to either get food or water. But today, we actually got a scooter and went to the Mae Sa waterfall and explored some of the surroundings of Chiang Mai. Continue reading
Time to sit back and relax
After 11 hours on the train, it feels good to breathe in some fresh air, stretch, walk and enjoy the morning sun here in northern Thailand. I’m already liking it here so much better than in Bangkok. Nice and quiet – the perfect place to just sit back and relax for a couple of days. I’m excited about what’s next here in Chiang Mai.
Tuk Tuks and the Royal Palace
Torben just left for the airport and I’m going to take the night train to Chiang Mai at 7:35pm. This morning we checked the royal palace and taking the Tuk Tuk off of our list. Gotta say though that the Tuk Tuk ride might’ve been slightly more interesting and thrilling than walking around huge golden monuments and temples in the midday heat… Continue reading
One night in Bangkok
Who would’ve thought that the bus would not only be on time, but actually arrive 2 1/2 hours early? Only question is: what to do at 3:30am in Bangkok. Well, 24h cafe and wifi it is. Killing time until check-in at 2pm in our hostel was supported by the fact that my 700ml shampoo spilled all over my backpack and I spent 45 minutes cleaning and rinsing all my stuff. But on the bright side, my backpack is well organised again and smells really good!
