I started out this day with some fresh mango and orange for breakfast and then headed to the Thai embassy to get a visa for Thailand. I walked for 1:15h all the way through KL cuz I kinda wanted to save some money and get a little workout done. It was really hot but I got to see a lot of KL.And now I really know my way around. I walked passed KL tower and the Petronas twin towers into the embassy district only to find the Thai embassy closed so I sat down in a cafe with a guy who was also waiting to pick up his visa. He turned out to be a captain on a yacht and he’s from Romania so he told me everything about his great country so I guess my next trip goes to Romania! When the embassy opened up again at 2:30pm I got the information that I’ll get a 30 day entry visa anyway so I didn’t even have to get a visa anymore (information about that was just really controversial on the Internet ..).
Then I walked towards KL city center, had a coffee there and took the train to central market where I walked around a little and then headed back to my hostel through Chinatown.
It’s been a long and hot day of walking (basically for nothing haha) but I feel like nothing you do here is ever a waste of time and you always get something out of it. So my conclusion of today is: definitely got a little bit of a tan, got my walk workout done, met a nice guy from Romania and learned a bit about the country, saw all different parts of KL, discovered the central marked and walked though Chinatown for the first time. Now I’m just hanging out at the roof top bar of my hostel with a really cool group of people, writing postcards, updating my journal, talking, having some wine and we’re about to fire up the barbecue .. Just another good day – one out of many to come.
